Donating Raffle Prizes
We are always looking for raffle prizes and the offer of services as prizes too so if you have some ideas or some items that you think would make great prizes, or can provide us with a voucher etc we would love to hear from you! Please contact us.

Individual Fundraising
Door to door, email, face to face charitable collections etc. Charitable Collections are a common method of raising money for charity, particularly amongst volunteers.

Event Fundraising
Organising events as a means of fundraising can be a great way to involve an array of different people and the community as a whole and benefit the families that Shine A Light support. If you would like to help us by running an event that will raise funds for our work and raise awareness to we would be glad to offer you support. It can mean fun for you and your friends, colleagues, family and is a great way for us to widen our audience and increase our supporter base. Coffee Morning! Coffee and cake anyone? We have a great coffee morning fundraising pack which makes it really easy for you to raise money for us! We also hold our own events so keep up to date by following us on social media!

Digital Fundraising
Online communications can be used for a variety of means, including campaigning, raising awareness of ways in which you can donate – helping us to promote our events and news through social media and appropriate web sites is a great way to contribute.

Sponsorship…

Sponsorship takes many forms and can be a great benefit to you and your organisation in a variety of ways. Sponsored Challenges! Promote wellbeing and a healthy lifestyle – Team building and corporate fun days. Whether you wish to do the London to Brighton Challenge, the 3 Peaks or the Iceland Lava Challenge we are glad to support you and receive your sponsorship money in return. These and more ideas can form the basis for a great event such as a mud run or cycle event giving everyone the opportunity to be involved and raise money for a great cause at the same time.

Sponsor Us or Sponsor people who are fundraising for us – e.g: provide tee shirts for events with your name on to promote yourself during the event.
Organise an event to sponsor us such as a fun day, family day out, trip, coffee morning, etc.
Publicity is often an important part of sponsorship and we will help you to promote this through all our regular channels such as web site, in our centre, at open days and in the press and on social media.

Events…

What we’ve got coming up…

Events are a great way to raise money and awareness of your company or organisation and our services too.  Ensuring that lots of people are involved and enjoying the event is a sure way of raising a great amount so if you are looking for ideas or you have your own ideas we would love to hear from you.  Why not download a copy of our ‘A-Z of Fundraising Ideas’?  There’s sure to be a few that appeal and we can support you in lots of ways!

Events often need volunteers and we can help with that if you are prepared to organise the event for our funds. Choose from sporting events, challenges, national events, sponsored events, hold a Coffee Morning (download our pack) SAL Coffee Morning Fundraising Pack 2018 or local events – we don’t mind.

Events require careful planning and promotion if they are to be a success – and there are also lots of legal aspects to think of. Contact us and we can discuss your event in more detail.

We are already planning for September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month.  Last year we raised awareness in Coventry City Centre by promoting the ‘Glow Gold’ campaign for Childhood Cancer Awareness.  We painted gold nails, gold face painting and gold hair as well as encouraging passers-by to take a photo of themselves with our gold frame and post it to our social media.  We gave out lots of leaflets, lollipops and met some lovely people.  We also sold some of the Glow Gold ‘Pins’ for people to wear and talk about what it means.  We hope to work with schools, businesses, community groups and centres to raise awareness of the services that we offer and raise funds to enable us to offer these services to more families.  If you would like to get involved please contact us – we are looking for donations, volunteers and we have lots of ideas to make the month one to remember!

March sees the launch of our new HUB, where we will be offering useful courses to our parents, after school clubs such as chess, LEGO, coding, crafts and games to our families and tuition too.  We have Thursday morning drop in sessions for coffee and cake and a chat or a game of cards or some colouring or crafts!

As mentioned, some of these services are for our families, so if you or someone you know has a child diagnosed with cancer in Coventry/Warwickshire, please complete our SAL Family Registration Form 2018
